WWII / KOREAN WAR - US M1 FRONT SEAM HELMET - SOLDERED CAPTAINS BARS. M1 COMBAT HELMET - CAPTAIN. Army M1 Combat Helmet, WW2 /Korean War era. The helmet has Captain's insignia soldered to the front (close inspection you can see the solder, it is NOT glued). The Steel Pot has a stainless steel rim with the seam to the FRONT.
It retains some of it's cork texture and paint with some light patina and looks like Korean War era Olive Drab. A few dents and dings on the top but no major damage, there are NO cracks, overall a good solid helmet.
The liner is a WWII era made by WESTINGHOUSE and re-webbed by MICARTA during the Korean War (1952). The OD chinstraps are machine sewn to the swivel bales but were probably also sewn during the Korean War. The webbing is in overall good condition and there are no cracks that I can see. Please look at the detailed pictures and ask me questions! Excellent Helmet for any Military Collection!
