WWII Korean War Era USGI U. S. M1 Garand Bayonet Union Fork & Hoe UFH & Scabbard

For your consideration is this authentic WWII - Korean War era, 10.0 blade, Union Fork & Hoe (UFH) M1 Garand rifle bayonet and Victory Plastics Co. (VP#2) M7 green plastic scabbard.

The bayonet has an overall measurement of approximately 14.50" in length and a blade measurement of approximately 1.0" wide and 10.0 long. The blade's ricasso retains a very sharp and clear " US ", " Ordinance Bomb " and U. The bayonet's spear point tip retains it sharp point and shows no signs of having ever been abused. The blade has a smooth parkerized flat black finish and appears never to have been sharpened outside the original factory production. Other than having a few light surface scratches (as can be seen in the description photos) across the high points of the blade's parkerized finish , from the weapon being pulled out of and pushed into the scabbard, it looks to be in very good to excellent condition.

There is no evidence of nicks or edge damage anywhere on the blade. This bayonet is a beautiful example of an authentic WWII era M1 Garand rifle bayonet. Please examine the close up photos for more details about what I have described.

The bayonet handle measures approximately 4.50 in length and has two black plastic grip panels that are secured to the tang by a screw. If the new owner so desired, the current set of grips panels can easily be replaced with a set of NOS grip panels.

The bayonet's pommel located at the top end of the handle is in excellent condition retaining a smooth parkerized finish that barely shows any use. The bayonet's scabbard catch button functions properly as designed.

The letter " H " is stamped into flat steel surface of the tang located about a 1.50 away from the end of the pommel. The M7 scabbard is original and NOT an M3 cut down military conversion. The scabbard is made of hard painted green plastic by the Victory Plastics Company (VP) and measures approximately 11.50 in length. The scabbard has a steel throat which has the " US " and ordnance bomb stamped on the front flat side.

On the reverse, the scabbard features the M1910 wire hooks for the scabbard's attachment to the soldier's canvas web belt. Additionally, there is a small drain hole on the back side of the scabbard located just above the tip's end.

Also on the reverse, located just below the scabbard's steel throat, are the manufacture's initials " VP " and the number " 2 " that can be seen pressed into the plastic. It is post WWII period and was produced during the Korean War. The tip of the scabbard's outer plastic has been worn revealing a small portion of the scabbard's inner material. The noted wear does not completely penetrate the scabbard's protective cover. In addition, the outer green plastic surface on both the front and back sides of the scabbard show honest use and wear. As can be seen in the description photos, there are a few minor scratches, blemishes and age cracks to the scabbard's outer green finished surface but none compromise the integrity of or interfere with the functionality of the scabbard. Overall, the scabbard is in good condition. This bayonet and scabbard will make for a great addition to any U.
