WW2/Korean War US 101st Airborne Rear Seam Swivel Bale M1 Helmet withLiner. Orig

Original Late WWII/Korean War US Army Paratrooper 101st Airborne McCord rear seam swivel bale M1 helmet complete with the liner. M1 shell has correct late war swivel (movable) chinstrap loops called "bales" and a stainless steel rim. These rims were both rust resistant and had "non-magnetic qualities" that reduced the chance of error readings when placed around certain sensitive equipment (such as a compass). This helmet still retains all of its original WW2 parts and the shell has all original "corked" grain paint. It features minor dents on the top. Helmet liner features OD canvas suspension bands.

This suspension is held tightly within the M-1 helmet liner by rivets and a series of black painted triangular "A" washers (17 rivets). The three upper suspension bands are joined together with the correct OD green string. This way the wearer could adjust the fit.

A-yokes OD style with the buckles are intact. The shell chin strap and leather liner's chin strap are missing.

The liner was manufactured by Westinghouse Company and is maker's marked with a''W'' in a circle on the inside dome. The name of the soldier is hand written on the canvas band. I still rate the helmet as in very good condition and it could be great addition to your collection.
