Army Brown Russet M1948 Combat Boots 10 1/2 R Korean War. Pair of very nice true vintage U. Army M1948 brown russet cap toe combat boots in size 10 1/2 regular. Coming into common use during the Korean War, it is said that the soldiers loved them for their looks, comfort and excellent ankle support.

Note that these are not jump boots. The russets were issued to all soldiers.

It appears that these boots have their original factory finish and original army-issue laces running through the 11 pairs of grommets. There is a square stamp on the tongue of each boot but the lettering is not readable. No other markings visible on the insides of the boots. The size is stamped in the usual manner on the upper edge of each boot. The size runs true to today's shoe sizes.

Heel to toe measurement on the bottom is 12 3/4. Sole width across the ball of the foot is 4 3/8.

Boots are 11 1/4 tall from the bottom of the heel to the top edge. The boots were well stored and are in excellent condition. Worn just enough to break them in and give them some character. Strong and solid- you could wear them if you wanted to.

The leather uppers are supple and flexible. No cracking or weakness evident. All stitching intact and tight.

Black rubber soles and heels show a very small amount of wear. No separation between soles and uppers. The russet brown finish is good and consistent with darkening on the toes.

Some scuffs and scratches on exterior as seen but no gouges or cuts. Interior surfaces look very good with slight soiling from use. Original laces are good with some soiling and wear. Lots of photos to illustrate condition. The item "Vtg 50s Pair U.
