Authentic Korean War Era U. Air Force Flight Trousers - Type D-1A (Sky Blue). Order No: AF-33 (038)-22622. These are original Type D-1A "Heavy" Flying Trousers issued to U.
Air Force flight crews in the late 1940s through the early 1950s. They represent the transitional period when the newly formed USAF shifted from olive drab WWII gear to the distinctive Air Force blue seen during the Korean War era. Authentic sky blue nylon shell with heavy insulation for cold-weather operations. Full-length zipper front with additional snap closures. Suspenders loops for over-the-uniform wear. Original spec and contract label intact: MIL-T-6283. Dry clean only, as indicated on tag. Manufactured by Sigmund Eisner Co. A major military uniform contractor during WWII and early USAF years. These trousers were part of the cold-weather flying clothing system for bomber and transport crews during the Korean War. The D-1A series succeeded the WWII-era D-1 and continued in limited use into the early jet age before being replaced by AN-series and K-series flight suits.
