Vintage us marine corps herringbone jacket and pants WW2 Korean War? I recently bought a box of US marine corps hats and uniforms at a yard sale. I got 4 hats dated 1944, 1950, 1951, 1952.
I did not find any dates in this uniform but as you can see there is a name written in the jacket and the pants. Not sure how long this gentleman was in the military but Im guessing this uniform is from the 40s or 50s.
And it appears that it has been in the dry cleaning bag you see in the last picture since at least 1972 because thats when the dry cleaners closed down. As you can see in the picture this uniform is in pretty good shape especially considering its age. Although it does smell musty from being stored in the basement. Along with some tie clasp And EGA pins. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Pants inside diameter of the waistband is 38 but when you button them up they over lap about 4. Crotch to bottom of pant leg is 28. Jacket armpit to armpit is 23. Top of the shoulder seam where it meets the collar to the bottom of the cuff is 31.Top of the collar to bottom hem of the jacket is 28 1/2. I have fairly broad shoulders when I put the jacket on its a little tough putting on But once it on it doesnt fit too bad but the arms are short for me. But I do have really long arms.
