Vintage! M-1948 Us Army M-48 Parka Liner Medium Coyote Fur Fishtail Korean War
Vintage 1948 M-48 Fishtail parka with liner and coyote fur lining on hood CONDITION: This garment is in excellent vintage condition. It shows signs of normal wear.
No rips, tears, stains or major issues. There is some light wear at the cuffs. This coat is absolutely beautiful especially when you consider that it's from 1948! Please examine the pics as they tell the story best. SIZE: Men's medium--but fits larger because it was meant to be worn over many layers (so please check the measurements to ensure fit).
This coat is absolutely a piece of history! This is original 1948 M-48 fishtail parka with the full lining and hood with coyote fur and all are in excellent condition. It is very rare to find just the parka---finding one with the full liner and in this condition is like finding a needle in a haystack!
These don't come around often. This thing is super heavy! There is noooo way you cold ever be cold in any weather while wearing this as a civilian. If you're reading this, you already know how rare and amazing this parka is, but here is some more info about it...
One of the rarest, and most sought after/ popular US military designs ever made. The fishtail parka is the king of the parkas, and the M-1948 is the king of the fishtail parkas. These were even hard to come by and extremely sought after in the 1960s during the British Mod explosion, and their lust for good fishtail parkas.
Upon handing and wearing this parka, you will understand why this has always been the most sought after. It is unbelievably high quality, which is the reason they were only produced for a year, and in very limited numbers.
Because they were so expensive to produce! The shell is hard enough to find on its own, but finding a liner is nearly impossible. Wind resistant cotton sateen shell, complete with working heavy duty TALON zipper, and cigarette/ pen pocket on the arm (arm zipper also working fine), fully adjustable strings and straps everywhere for a custom fit, and tags, as well as the beautiful thick removable liner which has about 1.5 or thick pristine white wool backing it, and a OD wool lined hood trimmed with coyote fur.
No expense was spared in the production of this parka. I would like to see this item go to someone who will really appreciate it.
