South American Cruise Book - 1952 - when they rounded cape horn. A group of onboard newsletters/newspapers spanning 1951 to 1953. Not sure how often they came out but there are examples from those years. Fireman Navy Training Courses - stamped with USS Oriskany Training Room Property Stamp.
A typed itinerary from the sailor who this stuff must have belonged to. Interesting to see the entry for "17 year old King Feisal of Iraq". 2 unused envelopes commemorating the Oriskany rounding cape horn. A Hong Kong supplement booklet.
3 press photos of the Oriskany. A booklet for the sailors about hong kong - created by the Air intelligence office and not supposed to be taken ashore. Highlights concerns for sailors like STDs etc.
Enlisted Correspondence Course for Fireman. Hand drawings of the USS Oriskany Transfer and Services systems.
Clearly this person was a fireman onboard and was making their drawings for the on-board systems. As you can see - overall the items are in good condition and its a really great group of USS Oriskany items for a collector or historian type. Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer - this was part of a military collection at a local estate.
