The boots are made by International Shoe Company on June 25, 1953. The boots haven't been broken in, don't appear to have been on a foot or walked in on the ground, nor have they been polished. The bottoms of the boots and the heels are both Light Tread maker marked. The original laces are present and in good shape. The top inside leather of each boot is marked 13 XW GV.
The bottom of the boots are stiff and don't bend with normal pressure. The leather uppers are soft and supple.
The inside of the tongues have a defense department stamp. The outer side of the inside leather of the boot is stamped with a contract number, maker, and date. I wear a size 13 shoe, and usually wear a 12.5 boot. These boots felt considerably large on my foot. Although i could probably wear them with a very thick sock. I do expect that these would shrink up if properly broken in with water and wear. This is a great pair of boots in a hard to find size. They will be near impossible to upgrade.
