For sale here is a decent US Korean War Era MP Military Police Belt Holster Baton Holder Rig. All of this appears to have been brown leather, but was period treated with patent leather type finish. The belt has no markings that i can see. It has a single claw brass buckle with heavy mellow patina. The patent process has cracked and shows quite a bit of crazing, but it is solid.
The belt should wear between 29" and 34". The baton holder has two working snaps and has also been patent treated. The baton holder is marked U.
JQMD 1951 with an inspector stamp of GJW on the back. The swivel works, the snaps have lost all of their paint, and there is some crazing and finish loss.
The holster is a standard US WW2 M1911 Holster that is maker marked Sears and is dated 1942. Again, it has been patent treated and shows some crazing, age, and finish loss. The holster is attached to a patent treated shoulder strap that is marked US JQMD 1948 with an inspector mark of ENS. The front of this hanger and strap are also patent treated. It also shows age crazing and some finish loss. This was probably a great looking rig at some point, but the patent treatment actually aged everything more than it would have otherwise. Everything is supple and strong and functional, it just looks rough due to the treatment.
