It has a WW2 era steel pot and a WW2 era helmet liner. The steel pot has swivel bales, and has a front closing side trim seem. The steel pot has a repair to the strap. A soldier's name, T. LORING, is marked on the helmet strap.
The helmet liner has a front Division Insignia hole. It has been painted black, and has a 1950s Hot-Rod, "Rat Fink" decal. The helmet has had maybe some Military Police markings painted over? I can see where white strips have been painted over that go around the helmet liner like on Military Police marked helmet liners. The helmet liner has light khaki color straps on the inside. There is a 1945 dated adjustable back neck support strap. There is a light khaki WW2 era sweat band, but the leather on the sweat band is old and cracked. The leather part of the sweat band is falling apart. I do not have a leather chin strap for this helmet, but the chin strap mount prongs are on the inside of the helmet liner.
The helmet has camouflage netting. All that is for sale here is the helmet, the head it is modeled on is not included for sale in this listing. There is some oxidation to some metal parts.
These items are old and in used condition. Normally I have old used items in bad to good Used Condition. They typically are in used condition and may have defects such as stains, moth holes, dirt, dents, scratches, etc. These items are old and things slowly get destroyed by time. Please do not expect something in new condition.
These items are in used condition. Most of the vintage items I list are not meant to be wearable clothing, or as usable items. The item weighs around 7 lbs in an open box as a rough weight for listing purposes. I have mailed items in the past to: Brazil, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Malta, Hungry, Belgium, Taiwan, etc. I'm trying to be 100% up front and honest. I mostly only leave other people feedback after they leave me feedback. Chances are, if you don't leave me any feedback I'll probably not leave you any either. I try to be 100% Honest and show photos and describe items the best I can.Items tend to be old, used, and as is. Feel free to ask me a question. If I see a size marking on an old Quartermaster Tag, I will try to show a photo of it. If I say that I do not know the size than please do not waste both of our time by asking about the size of an old militaria collectable. I also tend to have items packaged away to try and keep moths from eating them.
I only dig them out if they sell and need to be mailed. Please do not ask me to take more photos, because I probably won't take any more photos of things I have already stored away.
