The original owner was an Airborne trooper but born bit too late to see service in WWII so he served in the Korean War. During a night jump training exercise he broke both of his legs and spent quite a bit of time in a field hospital where he acquired these flags along with some Red Cross marked "towels" and other hospital items. The flag measures 2 x 3 and was made by the Keystone Flag Co. It has some staining but that's due to it spending the past 60+ years in a cardboard box. Somehow it was also spared bug damage and appear to be free of holes.
Some of the smaller hand towels in the same box have rather large holes but the flags were spared.
