ORIGINAL WWII WW2 / KOREAN WAR U. PARATROOPER COMBAT HELMET - AIRBORNE M1C.

This is another one from my personal collection. I got this helmet just the way you see it (except for the liner chinstrap, I added that). This is a swivel Bale, Front Seam Steel Pot with a heat stamp number of 1105F. The liner is an Original M1C version made by FIRESTONE.

It has khaki (OD#3) A-Straps that are riveted in. You can tell that they are original because the rivets have a nice brown patina and have not been tampered with, the rivets on the outside of the helmet also match.

The A-Straps color and rivet position put the manufacturing of this M1C liner between 1944 and 45. In my opinion this WWII Helmet was probably pressed into Korean War service. All of the liner webbing and A-Straps are Khaki (OD#3), the chinstrap is the 4-hole version and is Olive Drab (OD#7) in color, the steel pot chinstraps are also OD#7 in color. The steel pot chinstraps look like they were rigger placed, they are machine sewn but I dont believe they were factory placed.

I have included a close up picture. The steel pot has the WWII cork texture but is just a slight bit darker than my other WWII examples, this could be from age and use or it might be a Korean war era covering. There are no cracks on the steel pot. There are a couple of cracks on the liner, one front and one back. You can see the detailed pictures.

Neither of the cracks hurt the integrity of the helmet and it is still very solid. The liner also has the original khaki HBT sweatband and the leather is in good condition. If you are a Serious collector then this would make an excellent addition to your collection. You will receive the Helmet as pictured so please examine all the photos and ask me questions. I have had these helmets for quite some time and I have tried to describe them to the best of my ability.
