United States Air Force Colonel Harold Joseph Berry was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 13, 1898. He signed the Draft for World War I Sept. 12th 1918, He enlisted in the Army Air Force June 26th 1942 during World War II. He was awarded the Army Commendation ribbon March 4th 1946 for actions during World War II. Berry served throughout the Korean War and was discharged as a Colonel from the United States Air Force Aug.
The Colonel's headstone reflects his service in both World War's and the Korean War. Copies of his award cards which confirmed he was awarded the Legion of Merit medal in General Orders Number 51 issued by the Desert Air Force in 1959. Colonel Berry passed away on June 16, 1986. His is buried in the Ft.Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Scrolls down for images of included research.
