M-1948 Fishtail Parka Liner / M48 / Korean War / Mod

A rare opportunity to accquire an original 70+ year old M1948 parka liner. The listing is for only the liner, there is no shell included. These liners are super super rare, especially in any sort of decent condition, this one is very nice and in in the ultra rare SMALL size everyone wants.

This is the white pile variant and as the picture show it is in really nice condition. There are no field repairs at all to this liner and it is in totally original condition. All the button holes are in good condition and undamaged and it buttons into an m48 shell well. Both hood snap connectors are present, set securely and work perfectly. There is none of the usual fraying around any of the edging that is often found on these liners from wear and tear - in fact I doubt this liner was worn much at all over the years.

The white pile has the odd faint mark but it is lovely shape and is nice and plush as the photos show. The woolen hood is in perfect shape with no mothing or pin holes what so ever and all three buttons are in place and original, again they are in perfect shape, its as good a wool hood as ive ever seen in many years of collecting these parkas.

The cuffs are in perfect condition with no fraying to the edging and they have both button loops in place, again in very good condition. The green side has the odd tiny mark and nick and very slight fading as expected on a 70 year old parka liner but again the pictures are a good illustration of the quality of what is on offer - its a very nice liner. It will certainly complete someones m48 parka when it is buttoned into a m48 shell. These liners are as rare as hens teeth and this one is the most desirable small size, with the "S" label in it and the spec label on the inside of the breast pocket also stating it is a small sized liner and this label is perfectly readable. The outher breast pocket spec label lettering has faded out, but the label is still in place albeit unreadable now. It does have the odd mark and small nick as it is 70+ years old, it is however in lovely shape overall and the photos are a good illustration. That said whoever buys this liner will be very please with it and you will struggle to find a better one than this. Im not interested in any offers below the starting price - so please dont waste your time asking me to give it away - the starting price is cheap and Ive seen these liners fetch much more.
