What makes this specific medal truly unique is that it was manufactured by melting down actual barbed wire fences from the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). It serves as a powerful symbol of the transition from conflict to the hope for peace.

Obverse: Features a map of the Korean Peninsula, the text "The Korean War Veterans Memorial", "The Wire Fence From DMZ", and "Thanks and Honor". Ribbon: Decorated with the South Korean national flag (Taegeukgi) and the United Nations (UN) logo.

Presentation Box: Includes the original blue velvet-lined display box. The inside of the lid contains an inscription in Korean confirming its origin and the organization involved (The Republic of Korea Unification Foundation). Historical Significance: Mention of the 30th Minister of National Defense, Kwon Young-hae, is inscribed on the inner lid. The medal and ribbon are in excellent vintage condition. The box shows minimal signs of storage wear.
