This is a nice World War II re issued for the Korean War U. Marine Corps M1 Steel Helmet with the 2nd HBT type camouflaged cover the is in very good field used condition. The shell is undented and with swivel bales and a front rim seam. The chinstraps are khaki canvas with blackened bronze hook and claw fittings at the ends. The 2nd type camouflage cover is with the slits for additional camouflage and is faded but with good color.
The front is very lightly stenciled with the eagle, globe, and anchor. The side ears of the cover have been slit to accommodate the chinstraps a common practice. The liner is unusual in that it marked with both the Westinghouse AND CAPAC logos in the dome. The leather sweatband remains strong and solid. This is a fine-looking, battle worn combat helmet that remains in very good field used condition and displays nicely.
