There is no fraying to the chinstraps at the point of attachment on the bales. The 2nd pattern frog skin pattern camouflaged cover is in place over the shell and with printed Marine Corps eagle, globe and anchor lightly stenciled at the front. It is with the slits for additional camouflaged foliage. The liner is by the Seamen Paper Company and marked with the letter S within an oval logo in the dome.
It is with light khaki webbing that is heavily worn and with a few tears. The leather sweatband is dark from use and age.
