Korean War U. S. Army Combat Infantry Badge By J Balme, France

Here we have a scarce Korean War French made U. Army Second Award Combat Infantry Badge in excellent condition. This exquisite badge has a separately applied musket that is affixed to the badge by means of two rivets at the ends that pass through the badge and are peened are the back. The musket is with an ornate design that appears to simulate a wood grain. The painted blue enamel background behind the musket is flawless.

The richly detailed wreath is with star at the top denoting the second award of this prestigious badge. The reverse of the badge exhibits and unblemished silver frosted finish and is maker marked in raised letters, "J BALME, FRANCE". It retains both characteristic Balme-made silver clutches. A simply magnificent and exceedingly scarce U. Combat Infantry Badge that remains in extremely fine condition.
