WITH SQUADRON PATCHES SIZE 44. EARLY 1950'S R-G INC. Overall the jacket is in clean/solid durable condition. This Korean War era USN G-1 leather flight jacket is very clean overall and remains durable. The dark brown colored leather exterior is made of quality leather but is slightly stiff from storage (see photos). There are NO rips, tears, losses or excessively worn areas anywhere to the leather exterior and the collar reverse has the early style USN stencil in yellow paint (see photos).

Upper left chest has a period made/sewn brown leather USN aviators nametag with embossed wing (see photos). Nametag identifies the jacket to Chas. Upper left arm has a period made/sewn "Bitter Birds" squadron patch and upper right arm has a period made sewn Hatron - Two patch (see photos). Waistband is original and cuffs are period style replacements. Both are solid overall with none of the usually seen small snags & losses (see photos).

Zipper run is the original small tooth Talon that operates properly excepting a one tooth split to the right side 1 inch from the top (see photos). Inner lapel has no USN perforations which would be correct for this early G-1 jacket. Fur-like collar is excellent/solid overall with no issues (see photos). Buttons for the collar and flap pockets are present and secure (see photos). Interior has its original dark brown colored lining that remains intact with a few small losses above the makers label (see photos).

The original manufacturers label is present and shows the maker as R-G, Inc. And the size is shown as 44 (see photos).

The jacket however fits the mannequin as a size 40. Measurements for this jacket are: shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back 19 inches, shoulder seam to the end of the cuff material 23.5 inches, base seam of collar to bottom of waist - 24.5 inches. Armpit to armpit across the front - 25.5 inches (expanded). This jacket is a quality leather Korean War era USN G-1 flight jacket with a period made/sewn squadron patches made by a seldom seen maker.

It would be a great wearable jacket if you fit the size. Please remember this jacket fits more as a size 40. I have had in a long time.
