Korean War Era U. S. Marine Corps NCO Sword

This is a genuine Marine Corps Non-comissioned Officer's (NCO) presentation sword with black leather scabbard. Brilliant triple etched stainless steel blade, made by N. The NCO sword was adopted in 1859 and is patterned after the Army's foot officer's sword of 1850. The blade is etched UNITED STATES MARINES, and is in excellent condition.

Hilt is fit with the typical brass basket guard, displaying the patina one would expect on a 70 year old piece. The leather covered wood handle has the wire wrapping intact. The blade ricasso has a 6-pointed star around a brass plug stamped PROVED above a Fleur-de-lis. On the other side the N.

Blade is 29.5 long. Sword measures 36 overall in the scabbard. The scabbard is the standard NCO design, having the frog carry stud, black leather covered steel body. It exhibits some scuff marks as shown, and also has the aged patina of the other brass. Stamped RTR at the tip.
