Korean War Distinguished Flying Cross Medal Slot Brooch Field Award Air Force

Ww2 period produced slot brooch Distinguished flying cross. This example is in an early light blue bakelite case. It has been preported these cases were used for field presentations during the Korean war to Airforce recipients of the award which makes sense. These are near impossible to find in any condition.

The patina on this DFC is stunning. A truly rare piece of Air Force and Korean war history. Case does have a small crack. Medal has some green or verdigris on the edges from improper storage. Back marked #12 probably 12th piece at that presentation ceremony.
