Korean War collection

This is a very unique collection telling a full story of a Korean War major who was also a chaplain for the US Army. He was captured in the Korean War with a group of other soldiers and made a prisoner of war. The contents of this collection paint a real clear picture and provides a full story of this families journey.

This collection includes: Really neat travel briefcase from the 20's that traveled many places with Major Chaplain Burdue Over 250 letters to and from his wife, from his wife to other Army Wives discussing the whereabouts and the missing husbands. Correspondence from the Army, sworn statements of what occurred during the capture from other soldiers who made it home. Letters to and from the Senator and Mayor discussing his disappearance and efforts to clear up the unknown. (Includes at least 1 letter mailed from inside the POW camp, pictured) Over 250 photos including 19 photos of the captives in the POW camp and deceased soldiers that were used to confirm death.
