Japan 167 Color Slides Korean War Military 1952-1954 Case Captions US Air Force

For sale: More than 150 (167, give or take one or two) 35mm slides taken in Japan during the Korean War (slides were taken beginning in 1952 and ended in around 1954) with pages of short, mostly typewritten descriptions of the slides. The slides are in a metal slide organizing case/box. The slides are in very good condition and have been stored in the metal case for decades. The slides were taken by my father-in-law who was in the US Air Force stationed in Japan at the time. My father-in-law passed away nearly 20 years ago and my husband has no interest in the slides, although he removed some slides in which his father and cousin appear. As mentioned, included with the slides and case are typed pages (and a couple of handwritten pages) and a log on the back lid of the box providing captions. Many of the slides are numbered, and these numbers may or may not correspond to some of the written captions; however, there are many pages of captions (see photos), and 6 of the pages start with caption #1, as does the log on the back of the lid.

It looks to me as if many of the slides correspond with the log on the back lid of the box, but I havent spent enough time with the slides to know for sure. And possibly the captions on the log on the back of the lid were taken from some of the typewritten pages when the slides were originally organized. And possibly some of the pages of captions don't correspond with any of the slides--they could refer to slides or photos which have long since disappeared.

Some of the places, things, and people mentioned in these captions include. C-54, C-119, and C-124 planes.

To sum up, there are approximately 167 slides, and some of the slides that were originally in the box were removed. Also provided are captions, at least some of which correspond with some of the slides.
