Judging by the price, you'd say that I really don't want to sell this patch and you'd be right. I've had this patch for about 40 years and I've tried everything I can think of to ID it but without luck. So, I'm asking the world out there to help me ID this patch. If you know ANYTHING definitive about it, PLEASE assist and share your thought and knowledge. I'm at a complete loss about it and really want to know.
Patch measures about 3 in diameter and is a clutch back with 3 pins, one of which is missing. Here's what I think: The continent shown on the patch looks to me like Australia and the helicopter looks like a Hiller H-12E which was in use in the 50's-early 60's. I could certainly be incorrect, however!
Also the wings shown on the patch are definitely US Army Aviator's wings therefore it's a military patch. Please let me know if you've ever seen this patch worn, in use, or know anything about it. Please consider viewing my other listings (there are only about 40+) and adding me to your favorites list as I will be listing many more interesting and unusual items throughout the summer.
