Ww2 Korean War M1 Combat Helmet With Liner Dated 1950's

I have more pictures but cannot display all of them. Full Disclosure: I have very little experience in dealing with military collectibles. I did minor research to get an overview on helmets to become familiar with some terms, but nothing more. I quickly realized it's a very complicated, heavily researched and extensively documented subject and the topic of some debates.

I hopefully will not insult anyone's intelligence, but merely list the details, descriptions, writing, stamps etc.. I have found on the helmet. I welcome Qs, information I have left out and suggestions on what else to look for, measurement to add etc... That may aide in getting a fuller picture of this helmet. What drew me to the helmet was obviously the bullet ding /dent in front.

I cannot say for sure when or under what circumstances it got there, but I did show it to a few people (not military experts) familiar with guns/rifles/pistols who have military experience. They all felt it appeared to be nearly as old as the helmet, not something new. Again, just their opinion and the last I'll include. Hopefully you can tell the measurement/caliber of the bullet's impact in the helmet measure's approx. Please contact to me with Qs or further information you need and I will do my best to provide it.

Also, if there is anything someone feels I should as let me know. WW2 KOREAN WAR M1 COMBAT HELMET WITH LINER DATED 1950'S : INFORMATION/DESCRIPTION.

The heat stamp # is 849B. It appears to be a fixed bale helmet with rear seam. The last 1.5 of the seam is split - The textured paint has chipped in places with minor rust/discoloration - The left bale chin strap is missing -There are marks/letters that seem to be in pencil inside. The helmet insert is stamped CAPAC with a reversed "51" on top. There is yellow writing on the front and rear on the liner.

Front: 2 zig zagging lines. In between them I see U. Under that the beginning is gone due to bullet impact. Ends with possibly "ack" OR "ock" in cursive.

(Could be an "h" instead of "k") Rear: Yellow writing "EXCF then a "u, o or period? " then "LeLand, perhaps followed by 3 letters. Hard to make out - The liner chinstrap is missing along with the right piece that holds it - The sweatband is in rough shape - There appears to be writing or a faded ink print behind the nape strap.
