US Army WW2 & Korean War Mountain Troop Alaskan Rucksack Field Pack Backpacks
One backpack is from the Second World War era, and the other is from the Korean War era. The lose backpack frame is from the Second World War era. The WW2 era backpack is dated 1941, and is a relay early example of one of these kind of backpacks. It has a thin metal frame, clips to close the pockets, a zipper pocket on the outside, and thick wool shoulder pads.

The 1941 dated backpack is missing the tie string, has one broken clip, and a zipper with broken teeth. The other backpack from the Korean War era backpack looks like the more typical design of these Mountain Troop Alaskan backpacks. I at first thought that this Korean War era backpack was WW2 vintage, because it looks like the more common WW2 vintage backpacks in construction. I know it is Korean War vintage because there is some faded Quartermaster information in a large square block. Korean War era equipment has typically the name of the item with stock numbers and date information.

WW2 era items normally just have a maker name and date. WW2 era items have less information stamped on them than Korean War era items. The Korean War era backpack for sale here is constructed like most of the WW2 era versions of this bag. I have seen other Korean War era backpacks of this type that had leather straps to close the main part of the backpack instead of canvas straps. This Korean War era backpack has canvas straps to close the main part of the backpack like WW2 examples.

The 1941 dated backpack here for sale is an odd first pattern design with the clips used to close the bag and pouches. The 1941 dated example here for sale in this listing is super rare.

The Korean War era backpack listed here has some soldier's name and number painted over. Military would paint over soldier markings to re-issue items.

The lose WW2 backpack frame does have the waste straps, but is slightly bent from use. They are old, and in Used Condition.

I show some reference book material that has information about these kind of backpacks. The reference material book is not included for sale in this listing. They weigh around 17 Pounds LBS.

Normally I have old used items in bad to good Used Condition. They typically are in used condition and may have defects such as stains, moth holes, dirt, dents, scratches, etc.

This item is old and things slowly get destroyed by time. Please do not expect something in new condition.

These items are in used condition. Most of the vintage items I list are not meant to be wearable clothing, or as usable items.

The item was rough weighed in an open box. I have mailed items in the past to: Brazil, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Malta, Hungry, Belgium, Taiwan, etc.

The local Post Office gives those boxes out to use. I'm trying to be 100% up front and honest. I mostly only leave other people feedback after they leave me feedback.

Chances are, if you don't leave me any feedback I'll probably not leave you any either. I try to be 100% Honest and show photos and describe items the best I can.

Items tend to be old, used, and as is. Feel free to ask me a question. If I see a size marking on an old Quartermaster Tag, I will try to show a photo of it. If I say that I do not know the size than please do not waste both of our time by asking about the size of an old militaria collectable. I also tend to have items packaged away to try and keep moths from eating them.

I only dig them out if they sell and need to be mailed. Please do not ask me to take more photos, because I probably won't take any more photos of things I have already stored away.
