Large original Korean War era British MK2 military machete & original WW2 era leather scabbard in great overall condition. The machete was made in 1952 by S&J Kitchin in Sheffield, UK; the scabbard is marked BLG/1944. This type is illustrated on page 109 of the BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH MILITARY KNIVES book by Ron Flook. This machete is 20-1/8" / 51 cm overall; the blade is about 14-3/4" / 37.5 cm. Original vulcanized fiber red grips - marked with the "broad arrow" inspection mark on one side; all parts are tight. The blade has been re-sharpened; the tip is intact. The blade is stamped on one side S&J KITCHIN / SHEFFIELD / No 2640 and 1952 with the "broad arrow" inspector's mark. Original all-leather scabbard is in very good overall condition; the leather is a bit stiff; the keeper is cracked, but all stitching and rivets are intact.
