Pilot Ejection Seat F-86-F-30-NA Sabre Jet S/N 52-4305 Korean War Aviation

Ejection seat from an F-86F manufactured in 1952 and later made into an office chair. Seat bears metal ID plate with plane serial number 52-4305 on left side. The aircraft this was removed from, was actually an F-86-F-30 NA Sabre, the same type as flown by Major John Glenn in 1953 when he shot down three MIGs. A bit of history- US-305 was delivered to the USAF 30 Sept. This ejection seat was likely removed and replaced with an improved version prior to 1955 which helps explain it's excellent condition.

The metal surfaces are nice without rust or major dents, some recent silver spray paint in places. Homemade cushion was built from wood and covered with brown vinyl, along with the headrest and armrests. Seat has been mounted to a swivel office chair base with the addition of four holes as shown.

Seat is missing it's foot pedal rests, but otherwise seems fairly complete and an easy restoration project. A great opportunity for any F-86 Sabre fan.
