M51 Fishtail Parka / Mint NOS / Korean War / Mod / M-1951 / SMALL

This original US army M1951 Fishtail Parka. This is a compltere parka consisting of Shell, Liner and Hood Liner as well. Dated to 1961, the Oxford Poplin shell has both spec labels intact in the hood, pictured.

It is honestly one of the very best m51 shells i have ever seen and certainly never saw any action, it is mint. In fact id say this is actually an unissued parka as it doesnt have any damage on it at all and is in fact still retaining its sheen from the factory.

All the snap connectors work as they should and are mint and the original Steel Zipper is still in place and works perfectly. It has no damage what so ever, no repairs or stains of any kind and all the buttons and drawstrings are in place, the leather toggles look brand new. The Small M51 parkas are virtually impossible to find in decent condition now - this one is literally gold dust, it is that mint. The pictures speak a thousand words really, have a good look and if you have any questions or need any more pictures just ask me. This parka would be a fantastic addition to your parka collection or even better for a committed scooter boy (or girl).

In fact in all my years collecting i have yet to see a better example of a small sized M51 shell than this one, it is museum quality. Whoever buys this shell will be well chuffed when they open the box and the pictures tell the story. Please note the slight green color in pictures 7 and 8 is due to a fire escape light with a green LED on sitting over the door where the pictures were taken, it is totally unmarked.

Sadly the guy laundered the liner prior to sending it to me and as such, whilst a wonderful spotless example, the ink stamp has faded out. But it it a spotless liner and fits the parka shell beautifully, its also very clean. The button holes are all solid and there is no dmage to it whatsoever. There are no stains or damage to it whatsoever on either side and again it is a mint small liner for a mint small shell, making it a fantastic set. This hood is a first pattern hood.

It is made from the heavier type canvas rather than the poplin. The fur is in good condition for the year of manufacture (1951) and it is spotless, a really good and super rare example.

All the original buttons and drawstrings are on it and it fits the shell perfectly. Its a really spotless and lovely hood adn makes this parka a real prize piece. Here we have a totally mint unissued M-1951 fishtail parka. Complete with original Frieze liner and first pattern hood, it is a cracking set in a very wearable size small. The liner is a lovely example and though the ink stamp has faded out it is a lovely fitting liner for the shell. The hood is slightly earlier first pattern and again is a fantasticly clean example with very decent original fur for its age. The parka is clearly labelled SMALL sized as the photos show. These are the exact sizes of the parka zipped up and laid flat, i list them all to avoid anyone complaining about size and it not fitting. Pit to pit = 23 inches (46 inch chest approx).
