After the Korean War he served in the Illinois National Guard and was Appointed Brigadier General by the Governor of Illinois upon his Retirement in 1977. VERY Nice Group of Items that Are Well Documented and Identified to a Very Long Serving Officer. WWII US Army Officer's Khaki Four Pocket Dress Coat - VERY GOOD CONDITION.

Coat shows minor signs of age, wear and use with some very light scattered spots of soiling. Also shows four very small moth holes to the right arm that are approximately the size of a pencil point and located in the area of the 9th Infantry Division Patch.

There is also a very small bit of mothing to the interior of the collar near the handwritten service number. NONE of this is overly apparent and none detracts from the coat when displayed. To the Left Shoulder the Coat Bears an Excellent Condition 33rd Infantry Division Patch that remains firmly attached by it's original thread. To the Right Shoulder the Coat bears an Excellent Condition 9th Infantry Division Patch that also remains in Excellent Condition and firmly attached by it's original thread.

To the Left Cuff the The Coat Bears EIGHT Gold Service Bars that Also Remain in Excellent Condition and Firmly Attached. To the Lapels the Coat Bears It's Original Excellent Condition WWII "US" and Infantry Crossed Rifles Officer's Insignia that Maintain their Original Early Style Solid Brass Claps, we have heard these referred to as "Phinney" Clasps. To Each Shoulder the Coat Bears A Single Silver Star Signifying the Rank of Brigadier General. Both Stars are of Very High Quality and in Excellent Condition. The Interior of the Coat also Remains in Excellent Condition with only light signs of age, wear and use. General Hudson's Service Number or Partial Service Number is Present, Handwritten to the Interior Collar, Stamped on Tags and Stamped to the Liner As Well. The Hart, Shaffner and Marx tailor's tag remains present to the liner and in very good condition.

The Coat Maintains All of it's Original Buttons and they Remain Firmly Attached by their Original Thread. The Coat is an EXTRA LARGE Size and fits loosely on a size 40 mannequin torso. The MEASUREMENTS ARE: CHEST = 21 3/4 Inches From Armpit to Armpit Measured Across the Front when Buttoned and Laying Flat; BACK = 19 3/4 Inches from Shoulder Seam to Shoulder Seam Measured Across the Upper Back, Just Below the Collar; SLEEVES = 24 3/4 from Top Shoulder Seam to Cuff.

Korean War Model 1950 Officer's "Ike" Jacket - EXCELLENT CONDITION. NO Readily Apparent Mothing, Soiling, Staining or Fading and Maintains Excellent Color. Does not appear to have been worn much and remains in a beautiful state of preservation.

The Left shoulder bears an excellent 33rd Infantry Division Patch with a 9th Infantry Division Patch to the Right Shoulder. Both remain excellent and firmly attached.

Right Cuff Shows Where a Number of Length of Service Bars were Removed. No damage of any sort to the jacket, but loose threads are visible. The Lapels Maintain Excellent Condition Sets of WWII "US" and Infantry Crossed Rifles Officer's Collar insignia that Maintain their ORIGINAL WWII Flat Faced Clutches. The Shoulders bear WWII Pin and Clasp Back Lieutenant Colonel Rank Insignia that are the "Hollow Back" design.

The insignia show some age and darkening but remain nice examples in good to very good condition. The Interior of the Jacket remains in very good to excellent condition with only minor signs of age, wear and use. The QMD tag remains in outstanding, like new condition and is located to the interior of the right chest pocket. ALL Buttons remain in excellent condition and firmly attached by their original thread. The Jacket is Marked on the Tag as a SIZE 44 LONG. The MEASUREMENTS ARE: CHEST = 23 Inches; BACK = 18 3/4 Inches; SLEEVES = 25 Inches. All Measured in the Same Manner as Described Above. Korean War Era M1945 KMAG Patched HBT Shirt - GOOD to VERY GOOD CONDITION. Shirt is the style often referred to as the 1945 Pattern with the Larger Front Pockets than the M1947 Pattern. Originally had Gas Hood Buttons to the Rear of the Collar, but shows signs of them being removed.

Shirt shows signs of age, wear, use and laundering. Overall, remains very solid with a great war worn look. Some fading but maintains a good, strong OD #7 color. No damage to any material or stitching.

No readily apparent soling or staining. The "Korea Military Advisory Group" or KMAG Patch Remains in VERY Good Condition and is the Early Design with the KMAG Scroll or "Rocker" Stitched Below, Separate from the Main Patch. Patch remains firmly attached by its original thread. To the Right Lapel of the Shirt Maintains a Korean War Era Clutch Back Lieutenant Colonel Rank Insignia that Remains in Very Good Condition. Left Chest Bears a Cloth Stenciled Name Tag that Clearly Reads "HUDSON, " and remains firmly attached.

QMD tag to right chest pocket is completely washed out. All buttons remain firmly in place and in excellent condition. MEASUREMENTS ARE: CHEST = 23 Inches, BACK = 20 1/2 Inches, SLEEVES = 23 1/4 Inches.

Measured in the same manner described in the khaki coat description. Korean War Era M1945 HBT Shirt - GOOD CONDITION.

Shirt shows signs, of age, wear, use and laundering. OD #7 color has noticeably faded to a lighter shade, but the shirt remains very solid with no damage to any of the material or stitching. Maintains Gas Hood Buttons to Rear of Collar, but Definitely appears to have seen a good bit of wear in service. Left Chest bears a Well Worn Cloth Name Tag with the Faded Name "HUDSON" Barely Visible. All buttons remain firmly in place and in good condition. Some scattered light soiling with spots of staining to upper right shoulder. MEASUREMENTS ARE: CHEST = 23 Inches; BACK = 20 Inches; SLEEVES = 24 Inches. All measurements taken in the same manner described abov. WWII / WWII Era US Army Officer's Khaki Shirt & Wool Tie - SHIRT VERY GOOD CONDITION : TIE GOOD CONDITION. No damage to any material or stitching and no readily apparent soiling or staining.

Remains very solid with very good color. Left Shoulder Bears an Excellent Condition 33rd Infantry Division Patch that remains firmly attached. All buttons are present and in excellent condition. Original Tag to Interior Reads Regulation Army Officer's Shirt - Form Fit - Sanfordized.

MEASUREMENTS ARE: CHEST = 25 Across the Chest; BACK = 20 1/2 Inches; SLEEVES = 23 Inches; NECK = 17 3/4 Inches Measured Around the Exterior of the Neck when Buttoned. Measurements were taken in the same manner described above. WWII WOOL Officer's Tie - Remains in Good Condition. With No readily Apparent Soiling or Staining, but Does Show Age, Wear and Use with a Few Pencil Lead Sized Moth Nips. Tag to rear reads Frank Martin and Sons, Virgin Wool.

Korean War Era US Army Officer's Khaki Shirt and Cotton Tie - VERY GOOD CONDITION. Both the shirt and tie are constructed of heavy cotton and show only minor signs of age, wear, long term storage and use.

All material and stitching remains very solid and undamaged. No readily apparent soiling and only one pencil eraser sized stain near the collar to the viewer's right of the tie. BOTH General Hudson's NAME and Service Number Are Visible to the Interior Near the Collar of the Shirt. COTTON TIE - Shows only very minor signs of age, wear and use and maintains very good color with no readily apparent soiling, staining or fading. WWII US Army Officer's Khaki Garrison Cap - FAIR to GOOD CONDITION. Cap shows visible signs of age, wear and use. Shows soiling and sweat staining around the exterior of the sweatband. Also some light, scattered soiling and staining. Wear to the left front where an insignia was once pinned. The officer's piping remains in very good condition with no damage and good color. Interior maintains it's leather sweatband but shows signs of wear as does the faux silk liner. Nice, honest piece with a war worn look. Approximately a Size 7 1/2.

Korean War Black Cloth "HUDSON" Name Tag - VERY GOOD CONDITION. Black Cotton Name Tag with White Embroidery that Reads "Hudson" with Two Korean Characters Below It. Appears to have been stitched to a garment at one time, but remains very solid with no damage. TEN Pages of Modern and Vintage Research. Includes Copies of Original Documents such as General Hudson's Appointment to Brigadier General and His WWII DD-214.

Also includes copies from the Army Register that Shows His Awards, Promotions and Service Dates, Etc. Other information is from Online Research and Includes Information from the Veteran's Administration Death Files.

This information does a very good job of documenting the Grouping, General Hudson and His Service, but we Definitely think it Would Be Well Worth it to Research Him and His Service A Lot More. This information is a great start to further research.
