Collectible Authentic Korean War'51-'52 Gas Can and Hose Connector

This was found in my Dads' "stuff"and at that time there were 2 cans. I was told 1 was dated 1951 and the other 1952 from the Korean War which made sense as my Father served as an Army Medic.

There is something on the bottom but I cannot read what it is! I was told what the hose connector was called in the service but I chose not to put that on here! LOL I've left them as is. Did nothing to them, not even cleaned them up! The Can is: 19" Tall x 14" Wide x 6 1/2" w/Handles n 6" underneath Deep.
